About me
I’m a Junior at Hawai’i Pacific University majoring in Accounting and dabbling with Japanese on the side. My first name is actually Thanh-Tam, but everyone online calls me Crystal, and I prefer it that way because it’s easier for both sides. Sometimes I think I should have changed it to Crystal when I had a chance back in 4th grade when the citizenship thing came through, but I suppose it doesn’t matter much.
I’d like to say I’m an avid reader, but that would be lying. I used to be an avid reader, before university held my grades for ransom and demanded I pay with my time. Lately I’ve been reading less fiction and more textbooks, which I guess is an okay thing since I like learning about taxes. In my spare time, in addition to reading I also write short fanfiction and a original fiction.
My other interests include furthering my career (this is my top interest, actually, as it should be at this point in time!), learning Japanese, anime, manga, movies, cai luong, and nifty games/software/gadgets.
Am a big fan of British actors Alan Rickman, Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, Gary Oldman, and Jeremy Irons. My favorite actor of all time remains Hong Kong superstar Tony Leung Chiu Wai, best known in the U.S. for his roles in Hero (Broken Sword) and Lust, Caution (Mr. Yee). My favorite of his is In the Mood for Love, which won him a best actor at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival.
I have an extremely weird love for pens and other stationary items, but mostly pens. I’m follower of The Pen Addict blog, and own about 200 pens, 20-50 of which I always carry with me.
