A friend of mine has a book review blog hosted on rambly.net, and I’m constantly enamoured by the way she writes about books. I thinks he has a gift for talking about something in a way that makes you want to read it really badly, without mentioning much about the plot or the characters at all. She just gives you a tiny taste of the thing, and you find yourself wanting more.
So this morning I woke up and found she’d finished reading and put up a review for The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. This is probably my favorite book of all the books (not much, sadly) that I read in 2008.
I’ll let her do the talking now, because she does it better than I do =P.
P.S. Hans, the main character’s foster father in this book, is perhaps my favorite literary character ever. 8D
